Last month’s walk: Nowhere
Attendees: Alan, Di, Kev, Myra and Jimmy
Events conspired to keep us off the hills last month. This walk was to be tagged onto a weekend when Myra and Jimmy were in Fort William anyway helping some youngsters to climb Ben Nevis. We were to tackle Stob Coire Sgriodain and Chno Dearg on the east side of Loch Treig but Myra and Jimmy had to return home earlier than planned and Sheena and I got caught up in the chaos of a broken down Ferry in Stornoway so didn’t sail in time to get to Fort William for Saturday night. Di and Kev, I’m glad to say went anyway and managed a couple of walks in Glen Finan and Glen Etive. Oh, and Myra got all of the youngsters safely up and down The Ben on the Saturday.
Sunday 16th August
Ben Challum. OS Sheet 50. Between Crianlarich and Tyndrum. Names please by Thursday 13th to arrange cars etc.
September walk
Shall we make it a weekend like last September when we went to Kintail and bagged the three munros on the five sisters ridge. Perhaps Fort William would be an idea as we missed out last month. Plenty of Munros to do around there. How about the Grey Corries. Any more suggestion please. Also names as soon as possible to book accommodation.
Other stuff:
The website is now up and running www.bemac.org Anybody who wants walk photos posted please either e mail them to me or send prints and I will scan them. Perhaps different people might like to write the walk report from time to time to get a different perspective on things.
